When the accident happens on the mountain road, Peter (Joel Saemundsson) and Emily (Anna Brynja Baldursdottir) are relieved that nobody got hurt. As they drive off, strange things start happening. When they relive the accident, they are faced with the terrible possibility that 1000 years of love may have come to an end.
Black Sand is the second short film written and directed by Villi Asgeirsson, the first being the Small Hours in 2005. Black Sand (Svartur Sandur) is the first in his native Icelandic language. It is also the first time he makes a film in Iceland. He has also made music videos, concert films and a portrait of a painting. He is currently working on his first full length script. The music was composed by Guy Fletcher, known for his work with Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. He is currently working on a solo album. |
