Julia A. Noack is a great singer-songwriter from Germany. She has been living in Berlin for some time, a place of inspirations it seems. She is talented, very much so, so maybe it doesn’t matter where she lives. The music doesn’t sound very Berliner, whatever that would be. It is a bit of rock, country, blues, pop. Everything she thinks of, and she thinks of a lot.
Her debut album, Piles & Pieces, is a fantastic one. Oktober Films is lucky enough to have had the opportunity to make a video for one of the songs, Into The Real. We spent a night under the stars, or street lights rather. Then we met at 6:45 in the morning to get those early morning sun rays so that I could sepia them to death and make the whole scene dark anyway. And a whole day in front of a green screen so that she could play out her song at least 20 times in various ways.
