It was a cold (and unfortunately a bit cloudy) night two years ago. I visited a painter friend and we sat in his garden with a gas warmer between us. There was also a table with wine and cheeses. It was great, but if I do this again, it will have to be in a warmer and drier part of the world.
The music is by one of Iceland's best loved singers, Elly Vilhjálms (1935-1995). The track, Sveitin Milli Sanda, was originally taken from a documentary of the same name. It is said to be very hard to sing.
